Add a FAQ Section to Your Store

A Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) section helps your customers find quick answers and builds trust in your store. With the built-in FAQ Custom Post Type (CPT) powered by Secure Custom Fields (SCF), you can easily create, categorize, and display FAQs anywhere in your Kadence-based WordPress site – from product pages to landing pages.

Understanding the FAQ System

The Alpha Theme separates your FAQs from regular pages or blog posts. This provides a dedicated area in your WordPress dashboard where you can create and manage all your frequently asked questions.

The system allows you to assign each FAQ to one or more FAQ Categories. This is crucial for context – for example, you can categorize questions as “Shipping,” “Returns,” or “Product Care” and then display only the relevant category on the specific page where it is needed.

Step 1: Create a New FAQ Item

  1. In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to FAQs > Add New FAQ.
  2. Question: Enter your question in the standard Title field at the top.
  3. Answer: Enter your answer in the main Content area (Editor).
  4. Category: On the right-hand sidebar, look for the “FAQ Categories” box. Check the relevant category (e.g., “General” or “Shipping”) or add a new one.
  5. Click Publish.

Tip: Keep questions short and clear. Since the answer field uses the WordPress editor, you can format your answers with bold text, lists, or links.

Step 2: Display FAQs on Your Site

Unlike standard themes where FAQs are often hard-coded, the Alpha Theme allows you to place them anywhere using the Kadence Advanced Query Loop.

  1. Open the page, post, or template (e.g., Single Product Template) where you want to show the FAQs.
  2. Add the Advanced Query Loop block.
  3. Select Post Type: Choose “FAQs” as the source.
  4. Filter by Category: In the query settings, you can select specific categories. For example, on your “Shipping Information” page, you would filter the query to show only FAQs from the “Shipping” category.
  5. Layout: You can choose one of the predefined FAQ layouts included in the theme or build your own using the Accordion Block inside the query loop for a classic collapsible FAQ design.
