Dynamically display customer reviews on your store

Customer reviews are one of the most effective ways to build trust and improve conversion rates in your WooCommerce store. Instead of manually copying and pasting reviews, the Alpha Ecommerce Theme allows you to display them dynamically.

This means when a new review comes in, it can automatically appear on your homepage or product pages. We utilize the powerful Kadence Query Loop Block combined with our pre-designed Review Cards to make this process seamless and code-free.

What allows this feature?

  • Dynamic Content: Automatically fetches the latest reviews from your products.
  • Consistency: Uses predefined layouts (Review Cards) so every review looks professional.
  • Flexibility: You can place these reviews anywhere – on your homepage, inside a blog post, or in the footer.

Step-by-Step Guide

Follow these steps to add a dynamic review section to your page.

1. Add the Kadence Query Loop Block

Open the page or post where you want to display the reviews in the WordPress editor. Click the + button to add a new block and search for Query Loop.

2. Select the Pre-installed Query

Because you are using the Alpha theme, you do not need to build a query from scratch. The settings panel will allow you to choose from queries that are already included with your theme.

Look for a query named something like:
‘3 Latest Reviews [Review Card (3 Columns)]’

Select this option. This preset automatically tells the system to fetch the 3 most recent reviews and display them using the correct layout.

3. Customize the Review Card (Optional)

The review card comes styled out of the box to match your theme. However, you can adjust typography, spacing, or colors directly within the block settings to better match your specific branding.

Using Alpha’s Custom Shortcodes

To give your customers more context, we have included two custom shortcodes specifically for this theme. These are helpful if you want to design your own custom review card layout from scratch inside the Query Loop.

  • [review_product_image] – This displays the featured image of the product that was reviewed.
  • [review_product_link] – This outputs the URL of the product, allowing you to link the review card back to the product page.

Why use dynamic queries?

By using this dynamic method, your site always shows fresh content. You do not need to update your homepage every time you get a great 5-star rating. It saves you time and ensures your social proof is always up to date.

Pro Tip: To create a consistent look across your entire website, try to stick to one specific “Review Card” design for all your review sections. This creates a uniform visual identity that users will recognize.
